Whiteness, for whites however, yet awaits its spiritual decipherment in a crucible that will crucify (white) presumption and set free the human being caught in its webs of fiction. White people are not forever doomed to live the meanings of their white possession. But exorcism will require education of the senses to the way they are habituated in pattern and presumption. Here, something like the Pauline language of Principalities and Powers can hint at the stakes in an archetypal—if also stereotypical—manner.
